Other confirmed panelists at the inaugural edition of CGMA Speaks, which holds on Thursday, 23 March 2017, are Mr. Foluso Phillips, Executive Chairman, Phillips Consulting and Mr. Sam Nwanze, Chief Investment Officer/ Director Finance & Investments, Heirs Holding Plc.
Theme of the thought leadership panel discussion organised by CIMA, the global body of management accountants, in partnership with Phillips Consulting, is “Joining the Dots: The Future of Executive Decision Making.” The discourse will bring alive and give market context to data distilled from the global CGMA Research on decision making conducted by CIMA and AICPA in 2016.
The research surveyed 300 C-level executives in large organizations from 16 countries, with many admitting to poor decision making. More than three quarters (80%) of executives saying flawed information has been used to make strategic decisions, with 42% admitting their organization lost a competitive advantage because they were slow to make decisions.
CGMA Speaks is expected to bring senior business leaders and top-flight executives across all sectors in the Nigerian market together for a broad reaching conversation on information overload and excessive bureaucracy, among several other factors that bring about poor decision making. The discourse will also build and strengthen the relationship between CIMA and corporations in Nigeria.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), founded in 1919, is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants, with members and students operating in 177 countries, working at the heart of business.
