A woman has dragged her husband to court, asking for a divorce because her husband refused to perform his conjugal duties to her.

The 32-year-old woman, Jessica Buki, on Thursday February 2, asked a court in Mararaba, Nasarawa state, to dissolve her marriage with her husband, Francis Justin, for abandoning his marital duties.

They have been married for 3 years. She told the court that her husband refused to sleep with her despite her advances towards him. She said: “Instead of granting my request, he will rather rebuke me.”

She further said she has not seen him since he disappeared to an unknown location, since October, 2016.

Buki lamented that she was not getting the natural satisfaction required of a legal marriage. She said her husband had been avoiding her since they tied the knot.

She said: “He has failed to perform his duties as a man and has absconded. I was married to Justin since December 2013, in accordance with the law and customs of my people."

“I want this court to dissolve this marriage because he has showed that he does not want to have anything to do with me."

“I am 32 years old and can no longer wait for him nor stay without a man, so I demand that I get separated officially.”

Buki begged the court to accept her request, adding that she would make every effort to find her husband who failed to show up to court even though he was served hearing notice.

The judge, Ibrahim Shekarau, adjourned the case till Monday, February, 13, to give the couple time to settle the matter out of court.
